Welcome back!

21 April 2023 (by Martin ALLEN (Deputy))

We have had a lovely first week back in school and it has been so nice to see everyone again! The children are now enteing their last term in Reception and seemed to have grown so much over the Easter break!

This week we have started our new topic on Growing, which is appropriate! The children have enjoyed reading lots of different versions of the traditinal story 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and have retold the story in their own words.

Next week we will be planting sunflower seeds and learning how to care for them. We will observe them growing over the next few weeks and have a colour group competition to see which broad bean grows the tallest (these will be grown in polly pockets on the window so you will be able to see our progress!). We will also be conducting an experiment and observing what happens to plants when they don't have something they need to grow - will the broad bean kept in the dark cupboard grow as tall as the one on the windowsill?

We hope you have a lovely weekend!

From,

Miss Dempster and Miss Macey
