Welcome Back to the Summer Term.
We have started our Oceans and Seas topic with some geography work to locate the 5 oceans of the world and the 7 continents. The children loved using the maps, globes and Google Earth.
In English we have been reading The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson. The children have planned and staretd to write their own version of the story. In maths we have been looking at using the 'inverse' calculation to solve number problems. This means using the opposite type of number sentence e.g. 13 + __ = 27 can be worked out by solving 27 - 13 = ___.
This half-term our PE days have changed and will be Monday and Tuesday.
In addition, our spelling quiz and returning homework for marking will now be Mondays.
The homework tasks this week are:
Reading: Section 6 – Public Libraries -read p40 and 41, answer questions on p45 and 46
Maths: Section 6 – Geometry p67 and 69
Spellings will now go on to Seesaw on a Monday afternoon.
The new School Jotter app has gone live. It is a new app so you will have to download it from your app stop. It is called School Jotter 3 and the icon for the app looks like the picture above.
If you do not have the login sheet handed out last half term please let me know and I will organise another copy for you. The old app will soon be discontinued and will no longer recieve updates.
